Glen Phillips and Garrison Starr Perform at TFT

May 6, 2026---Glen Phillips of Toad the Wet Sprocket fame along with songwriter Garrison Starr, played to a standing-room-only audience at the rustic Maverick Saloon. It was Tales From the Tavern's final show of the season. Their brand of alt/indy rock attracted folks of all ages and provided an evening of enjoyment and thoughtful listening.

Barry Sigman Photographer/ Chief Editor Barry's whirlwind photography career began with a daydream at a mom n pop BBQ restaurant in west Houston. It was there that he picked up a local music magazine called Best in Texas.  He said, "I'm gonna shoot for them." And shoot he did!  He travelled all over the city and parts of southwest Texas shooting "red dirt" Texas music artists.  Some of which became national such as Pat Green.  Soon, his reputation grew as a professional concert photographer and he branched off into hard news publications, shooting for Houston Chronicle and Houston Press.  As his photography circle grew bigger, he started his own website, All Access Music News. An Evening at The Sun Rose with Luke Spiller

 December 5, 2025 The thing about Luke Spiller is, you never know where or when he'll turn up.  AAMN photographer and chief editor, Barry Sigman and I enjoyed a brief encounter with him before the show as we were setting up the photography equipment.  There, standing majestically at the bar, clad in a long black coat, shod in silver snip toed boots, stood the enigmatic singer//songwriter/poet.  His deep-set eyes, accented by smokey eyeliner looked straight into mine.  Extending his hand, he introduced himself like someone does at a party, "hi.  I'm Luke," he said softly in his charming British accent.  So sweet and unpretentious.  Does he really think we don't know who he is? I thought.  "Yes.  we KNOW who you are!" I exclaimed.  All I could think of to say was, "enchanted!"
